We believe that experience should not be a barrier to playing the game. Players of all skill levels are welcome to join—whether you’re a green beginner, recreational enthusiast, or collegiate athlete, there’s a place for you here.
How to Join
Players
New players without a team should register as a Free Agent. If there are teams you’d prefer to join, let us know when you register, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Teams
New teams can join from September until early March. Folks interested in starting a new team should email the League Commissioner for more details about what you’ll need.

The Mary V. League is for adults 18+ who meet the eligibility criteria outlined in our league rules.

The League has no formal attendance policy. Before registering, players are expected to assess their ability to commit to 1-2 games per week (approximately 16 games total) from late May through mid-August.
Player spots are limited, and registration fills quickly; joining a team means making a good-faith commitment to show up regularly, communicate absences, and support your teammates.
Outside of attendance, players are expected to contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and community-focused environment on and off the field. -
Player registration typically opens in mid-March and remains open for about 3 weeks. If the new player pool reaches capacity, registration may close early.
2026 Registration opens on Friday, March 20th! -
Not officially, no. However, teams do experience some level of attrition due to scheduling conflicts, family obligations, travel, or even injuries. In those cases, teams may need subs to fill in for missing players. If you’d like to be considered for subbing opportunities, complete the Subs Sign-up Form (available when New Player registration is closed) to be added to the list.
Experience is never required to join the Mary V. League, so don’t worry if you’ve never played. Your temporary teammates have you covered!

Believe it or not, annual planning starts in September and is mostly finished by the end of February.
When player registration opens in March, much of the season’s logistics are already in motion—including player fees, insurance renewals, game counts, and field reservations. Adding teams beyond mid-March disrupts player registration and causes several logistical and financial challenges for the league—challenges that could potentially derail the entire season.
